A doctor in Walla Walla, Washington, has been charged with two counts of first-degree custodial interference after she allegedly fled the country with her two children during a child custody case in 2009.

According to the Union-Bulletin and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 45-year-old Kirsten Eberhardt has been charged with two felonies in Walla Walla County Superior Court regarding taking her two children, 12-year-old Nora Post and 10-year-old Ian Post, out of the country during a child custody dispute with her ex-husband. According to the charges, Eberhardt left the state and the country in violation of the official parenting plan two years ago. Eberhardt was a practicing OB/GYN at the Women's Clinic in Walla Walla.

The couple, news sources say, went through a lengthy divorce and bitter child custody battle before the woman allegedly took the children in violation of court orders.

If you believe that your ex-spouse or partner has violated their court-ordered parenting plan, or if your ex-spouse has fled the state or country with your children during a child custody dispute, you should speak with a Washington State child custody lawyer about your case immediately.
