Child support is based upon the incomes of the parents of the children.  So if one spouse marries again after the divorce the income of new spouse is disclosed to the court but it’s not part of the formula.  If the new spouse makes a significant amount of money, sometimes the court will consider that--but we're talking about a significant amount, like a million dollars a year or more.  But otherwise for most cases for most families the income of a new spouse does not come into play in setting child support
