Corey Dillon, a retired professional NFL football player and native of Washington State, has been arrested for spousal abuse this week. According to early reports, the 35-year-old athlete and his wife, Desiree, were involved in a domestic dispute at their home on Saturday night after Desiree called police for assistance. When police arrived, they observed that the woman had apparent minor injuries and was the victim of domestic violence and spousal abuse.

Reports say that Dillon and his wife were fighting over their impending divorce and child custody case at the time the domestic assault occurred.

Dillon, who early in his football career was a star player for the Washington Huskies and Franklin High School in Seattle, was arrested and then released on $50,000 bail. This is not Dillon’s only recent legal woe: last month he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He has yet to face either charge in court.
