Seattle musician Kenny G and long-time wife Lyndie Benson-Gorelick have decided to seek a divorce after two decades of marriage. In January, Benson-Gorelick filed for a legal separation citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple, who were married in 1992, have two sons: 17-year-old Max and 13-year-old Noah.

Washington State native Kenny G gained popularity in the mid-1980s through his smooth jazz saxophone albums. To date, he is the best-selling saxophone artist in recent times and has seen international success. He has sold 75 million albums worldwide and has a net worth of approximately 50 million. He grew up in Seattle’s Seward Park and began playing the saxophone when he was 10-years-old.

It is unclear if the couple has a prenuptial agreement – if not, Lyndie Benson-Gorelick may be legally entitled to half of the couple’s fortune. It is not yet clear who will get custody of the couple’s two children.

Kenny G has hired celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in the days following the news of the separation. Wasser has represented Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian in the past. Benson-Gorelick has also hired a noted divorce attorney, Gary Fishbein. The two have not yet spoken publically about the split or the reasons behind it.
