Seattle Seahawks Player Hill Returns To Field After Domestic Violence Suspension

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has completed his one-game suspension in the NFL and will return to playing professional football this week. Hill faced discipline from his employer this fall after a marijuana charge this summer followed by a domestic violence charge against his significant other in April outside of Seattle.

Hill is now on 18 months of probation and has taken a $4 million pay cut regarding his contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He will also enter into a 26-week Washington State-certified domestic violence treatment program and complete 25 hours of community service.

The domestic violence incident occurred in Issaquah, when police responded to a call from Hill’s live-in girlfriend. The call resulted in a misdemeanor charge of fourth degree assault and domestic violence on August 19.

The domestic abuse charges he faces also led to a restructure of his NFL contract with Seattle – he will only make about $2 million in base pay this year and will become a free agent at the end of the season.
