According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, 48-year-old Robert Shaver broke into the residence of his ex-girlfriend, tied her wrists, and beat the woman while threatening to commit suicide and murder her. In the weeks leading up to the alleged Seattle domestic violence incident, the woman claims that her ex-boyfriend became increasingly dangerous and threatening. After the break-up, she told police that she was stalked, that her employer was harassed, and that her car was broken into. She filed a protection order just weeks before he broke into her apartment.
After the incident, police found a stun gun used in the attack as well as two suicide notes at the woman's apartment. Shaver, who resides in Riverside, was apprehended by police several days after the attack.
Shaver, who has a history of sex offenses and domestic violence offenses, is currently being held at King County Jail on $500,000 bail. Before this most recent arrest, Shaver was sentenced to eight months in jail after assaulting his ex-wife. Seventeen years ago, he was convicted of a sex offense.
