Following a July 15 standoff with West Seattle Police, a young man has turned himself in and been charged with two counts of domestic violence assault against his teenaged ex-girlfriend.
According to the West Seattle Herald, 20-year-old Jory Lee Preston had a history of harassing and stalking his ex-girlfriend, a17-year-old girl. The young woman said that after the couple broke up in March, Preston had sent her threatening text messages, called her derogatory names, and followed her to parties.
The harassment came to a head on July 14, when the woman told police that Preston followed her to a party, where he called her names and would not leave the premise. After getting into a fight with another partygoer, Preston allegedly brought his ex to his car, pulled a revolver on her, and threatened her life. He also pulled out the revolver and cocked it during the party, which was broken up by police. After he left, police sought the man at his apartment, where he barricaded himself and refused to come out. He later fled the apartment with his mother, but turned himself in to police shortly afterward.
Before the gun incident, another domestic violence incident took place between the couple in a park, where Preston threatened to push the girl into traffic and tried to force her into his car.
