Businesses around the globe have been altering their services to benefit off of high divorce rates. Cosmetic surgeons are creating plastic surgery packages geared to newly divorced women and lending companies are financing divorces and then taking a share of the settlements. The hospitality industry is now catching on.

In Amsterdam, Jim Halfens has opened a "divorce hotel," which offers a weekend package for dissolving a marriage. Halfens said that 10 couples have taken advantage of his offer so far, and he believes that interest will continue to grow.

In addition to the lodging, Halfens provides a notary public, a lawyer for each party, a psychologist, and an estate agent to ensure that the divorce goes smoothly.

The entire package costs $3,500 dollars, which includes legal fees. Halfens has geared the package towards busy professionals who want to save time.

"Our clients are mainly people who have very busy careers like doctors. We offer them a proper chance to get a fast divorce," he said.

Although he has received interest from foreigners, Halfens wants to make it clear that "foreigners cannot obtain a valid divorce [in the Netherlands]." He is hoping to expand into other countries in the near future though.

5,600 miles away, Casa Velas, an adult-only resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is offering an elaborate post-divorce package. This package includes a stay for the divorcee and five friends in the newly renovated Presidential Suite, a VIP night on the town, a spa treatment, airport transportation, a shopping tour, and a ceremonial farewell party and coffin for the divorcee's old wedding ring.

The package starts at $350.00 per night, and includes taxes and gratuities.
