When you're looking at the question of whether you should move out or not, the first and best piece of advice I can give is that you need to have a legal plan before anybody takes any action unless there is safety issues.  If there's an issue about the children not being safe with one of the parents, or if there's an issue of you not being safe with your spouse, then absolutely you need to leave and the law provides mechanisms to keep you safe.  But absent those safety issues it should be a planned move before it happens so that all the issues are considered.
