A common mistake that men make in divorce cases is thinking that the judge is going to be less predisposed to give them adequate time with their children.  More and more courts now understand that men need to be involved in their children's lives.  Children need a fully-functioning father that participates in their lives on an ongoing regular and consistent basis.  The courts are absolutely more and more open to allowing somebody to step up and be a fully-involved father.
