Police Suspect Missing Seattle Woman Was Domestic Violence Victim

Just over one year after she disappeared, Seattle Police are once again asking for the public’s help in locating 21-year-old Nichol Cearo, a Washington State resident who police fear has been the victim of domestic violence. Cearo had experienced a relationship filled with domestic abuse with her boyfriend – a man that was with Cearo the last time she was seen and a man who authorities day may have admitted killing her last spring.

Seattle homicide detectives have been assigned to the missing persons case since September – but although they have searched Seward Park (where they believe her body may be located) and interviewed friends and family, the case has turned cold.

Cearo has not picked up her financial assistance checks since March 2009 and has not been seen since she was released from King County Jail on March 30. At that time, she left with her boyfriend. While Cearo has a history of minor brushes with the law, Seattle Police say that her boyfriend is a known felon with a long list of convictions.
