Not the primary parent? 5 ways to spend more time with your kids!

Do you feel like you don't see your children enough since your divorce was finalized? Splitting a child's time between parents is not only difficult on the child, but on parents as well. If you feel that your once-a-week visits just aren't enough, try some of these suggestions published by Lee Block, Post-Divorce Consultant and Author, to spend more time with your child while still respecting your ex's time as well:

1. Coach a sports team that your child plays on.
2. Offer to drop off and pick up your child at extracurricular activities.
3. Volunteer to be a chaperone for your child's class field trips.
4. If your ex is looking for a babysitter, offer to take the kids.
5. Take lunch to your child at school. Make sure you get the permission of your child's teacher before doing this.
6. Attend your child's performances and events.
Before following any of these suggestions, please carefully review your parenting plan and decree to make sure that you will not be violating any stipulations in either document.
