A woman shot her husband and then herself on Beacon Hill in Seattle this week after a domestic dispute. Washington Police say that the woman had a history of crime, illegal weapons possession, and felony - and that both the man and who had a history of domestic violence.

Beacon Hill Woman With Domestic Violence History Shoots Husband, Herself

A murder-suicide took place on Beacon Hill in Seattle on Tuesday afternoon, August 3, when Washington State Police say that a woman shot her husband twice in the head and back and then later shot herself.

The domestic violence murder took place just before three in the afternoon on South Hines Street. The woman shot the man, knelt beside him, and then drove away. When Seattle Police later found the woman, she shot herself while in her car. The man and woman, who were both 30 years old, had a history of domestic violence, separations, and divorce filings. The woman had a history of arrests and felonies, including a 2007 conviction for unlawfully carrying a firearm. Court records show that the could filed for the divorce most recently earlier this year.

Of the eight murders to take place in Seattle this year, six have been connected with domestic violence.
